Your loadout selection is the sole thing that determines what you can carry to the mission, and it has practical implications: A long rifle in close quarters battle may cause a weapon collision; placing a scope too far forward on the rail will make your sight picture too narrow; and the impending encumbrance and stamina system will make carrying too much gear difficult for your character.
