Gunpoint is a 2D stealth puzzle game built around one particularly clever idea: instead of simply sneaking past security, you can change how the building itself works.

You play as a freelance spy who accepts jobs involving high-security buildings, sensitive information, and plenty of trouble. That makes every mission feel like a small puzzle box. A door, light switch, alarm, elevator, or trapdoor can become part of your plan if you connect the right systems together.

Gunpoint Gameplay

The main attraction of Gunpoint is its unusual approach to stealth. You are not simply looking for a route through each building. You are constantly asking yourself how you can change the building to create a better route.

The game gives you a gadget called the Crosslink, which allows you to view the connections between security devices and rewire them. With the right setup, a device that normally helps a guard can suddenly work against them.

For example, you might connect a light switch to another security mechanism and activate it at exactly the right moment. The environment becomes part of your toolkit, allowing you to create distractions, open paths, and set up unexpected solutions.

This system gives Gunpoint its personality. There is rarely only one obvious way to solve a problem.

The Crosslink Makes Every Level Different

The Crosslink is arguably the defining feature of Gunpoint.

Instead of treating a level as a fixed obstacle course, the game lets you manipulate its electronic systems. You can inspect how devices are connected and then change those connections to suit your plan.

That means a room that looks impossible at first can become manageable after a little experimentation.
